Today’s Short #Poem 238

Lotus

This Lady Chapel cracks.
Shards of coloured glass
cover sacristy and altar –
cream, silk-red;
hard to the fingertips.

This lightsome saint transfigures
my prayers; bestows benevolence
– in the shadows,
I believed I was alone.

This grey, wool curtain
seals the room;
the door is now latched.
