Today’s Short #Poem 337

I need to lie
on my belly
ear to the ground
left
right
crick this crunchy neck
beaten
on the shoulders
by sun

This was, I recall,
a key component
of my religious practice
before agnostic tenets
locked my muscles
into eternal steel
